LITTLE GATE FARM SEAFRONT WALK AND CELEBRATIONS!
On Sunday 2nd April we are also excited to share that the wonderful Little Gate Farm are running a Seafront Walk and Celebrations as part of Autism Acceptance Week which will be taking place right outside our market on The Stade Open Space!
They'll be holding a walk starting from Grosvenor Gardens, all along the seafront making their way to the The Stade and so we wanted to share a little bit more about What Little Garm Farm do with you all ahead of the weekend!
Who are Little Gate Farm?
Little Gate is a registered charity born out of a vision to enrich the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism. They provide a little gate to a bigger future!
Their home is the beautiful Little Gate Farm which is 46 acres of pasture and ancient woodland in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's a truly wonderful location!
And what do they do?
At Little Gate Farm, they find paid jobs for adults with learning disabilities and autism, giving them all the support they need to learn the role, adapt to their new workplace and become a real asset to their employer.
They also run supported apprenticeships giving adults with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to train ‘on the job’ in paid apprenticeships. They work closely with employers and specialist education providers to ensure everyone involved gets the most from these wonderful learning opportunities.
Alongside this, Little Gate Farm also run several social enterprise ventures which create income for the charity and give their trainees valuable business experience. These include venue hire at the farm, cut flower production and products from their woodland enterprise scheme.
