Welcome to our next instalment of interviews with our stallholders! Today we meet Lucy from Arc Lore.
Hi Lucy, thanks for joining us on the blog today at The Pop Up Emporium!
Can you tell us a bit about what you do, your work and how you started your business?
I am the creative director behind ArcLore, which basically means I lead the way for visualising the branding of our business and also the styling/shoots etc . I have worked as a set designer/stylist for over a decade, being frustrated with the amount of waste in my industry, I starting looking into a way of being part of something more sustainable.
I’d visited a world craft fair in Santa Fe back in 2013 and dreamed of one day being part of a business that would also play a part in supporting traditional craft. A year later I had the opportunity to visit Turkey where I fell in love with their textiles!
The rugs and towels were so exquisite and well made, I also loved how steeped in history and tradition they were and how there were still villages where the pestamels were handmade on wooden shuttle looms.
Where do you sell your work?
The Fair shop Brighton, Country Living Fairs, Primrose Hill Designer Sale and Pebble magazine.
What is your favourite item you have made?
The lush organic cotton bed throw.
And what is your best seller?
Our Samimi bath set.
What is your life motto?
Inspired by William Morris; not to own anything that is not either beautiful or useful, but preferably both!
'I Shop Local' is our motto - where are your favourite places to shop locally?
There are so many gorgeous shops in St Leonards and Hastings. My favourites are SHOP on Norman Rd and Dyke & Dean and A G Hendy & Co in Hastings.

We've been taking part in their Online Pop Up Markets whilst Hastings based Markets are postponed, and the next one we are a part of is Saturday 5th September!
