The Pop Up Emporium - takeover by Lucy from Dyementions UK

Our Small Business Interviews are back and this time we have a twist as Lucy from Dyementions UK is taking over the blog!

Hello everyone! I’m Lucy from Dyementions UK and I’m a little bit of a colour enthusiast.

I make slow fashion accessories, made from sustainable fabrics where shibori/tie-dye is at the heart of all my designs.

Roughly this time last year I reached out to friends and family on FB and Instagram to see if they wanted a face mask or two that were tie-dyed in the pattern and colours of their choice.

Over 100 uniquely tie-dyed face coverings later I took the plunge and opened an Etsy shop to have an official selling platform and also expand into accessories and clothing. I had always talked about creating hippie festival apparel and now was the time to start building it.

My accessories are made in limited quantities where once a pattern in a specific colour is sold out it is gone! My favourite part about making my tie-dye wares is that none of my items look identical to each other. My two most popular items are fingerless gloves and infinity scarves. I mainly use bamboo fabrics, an underrated sustainable fabric that is super soft to the touch. This month I have opened my custom tie dye doors again by introducing new face mask tie-dye patterns and now any one of my accessories can be custom tie-dye designed by you!

Shopping small to me means having the power to support someone’s art, that may have started as a hobby and then turned into a passionate dream job. By buying a piece of their work, you are validating the heart and soul that goes into making their products.

Thank you Lucy, it's been lovely to chat and hear more about Dyementions UK today!
